How long it lasts: just over two hours (10 chapters of 13 minutes) The title of Nadia de Santiago’s series -we are hallucinating about the creator behind the actress- can be read almost like a micropoem from which an idea as precise as it is emotionally overflowing springs. And with an audiovisual translation that at first seems like a nice trick (each chapter is divided into a few minutes of present time and a few minutes of memory), but in reality form and substance merge with full sense. It’s fascinating to discover the subtle layers of meaning in this kind of reverse daisy-chopping to tell both a story of love and a story of grief. True, the former can get cheesy because it relies on some romantic comedy clichés, and the dialogue sometimes becomes predictable, but the whole thing explodes as one of the best sentimental series we’ve seen in a long time.
How long is it? 2 hours and 40 minutes, eight episodes.We still haven’t gotten over this French miniseries. Its timing (it premiered in the middle of confinement) was spookily perfect. It narrates in 8 chapters, each with a single sequence shot, different moments of society after its collapse. In a few months when we were robbing supermarkets and emergencies were overflowing, fiction seemed very real to us. But if we have learned anything from it, it is that we have to look very carefully at fictions like this one, which sooner or later will become premonitory.

In this article I deal with three “cultural syndromes” that cannot be interpreted under the canons of official medicine, since their origin goes beyond the biological and involves psychological, social, economic and cultural aspects. Various classifications of cultural syndromes have been established taking into account their origin. For our case we use a double basic distinction, in my opinion sufficient to frame the material presented: 1) cultural syndromes whose origin is related to entities of the supernatural world (in this category is paura), and which require the intervention of a charismatic therapeutic operator; 2) cultural syndromes whose origin is not related to entities of the supernatural world, among which are the so-called cultural syndromes of social origin, such as envy and the evil eye.
